DORA Register of Information Template
According to communications from the European Banking Authority, there is no official template for the register of information. For this reason, BaFin published a register of information template on 6 March 2025. This template has some limitations: for example, it is provided in English. According to BaFin’s statement on 6 March 2025, the template is not fully tested and is considered a beta version.
Accordingly, updates are expected that will require migration of data into the current version. An easy way to avoid such issues is to use a convenient Excel template for storing all registers of information data. The template offered here efficiently incorporates all requirements of DORA Article 28(3) and the associated Implementing Technical Standard 2024/2956 for the Information Register:
- Template available entirely in German or upon request in English in an easy-to-use Excel format
- One-to-one mapping of all required columns in the exact order of Implementing Technical Standard 2024/2956
- Includes all updates of the European Banking Authority from 3 March 2025. One-year free update guarantee in case of regulatory changes
- Included Q&A session on all regulatory and technical aspects of the register of information with our experts
- Compatibility with the professional IQRegister software solution as well as associated conversion and testing tools
- Integration of all official selection options as convenient drop-down menus including tooltips

Reporting and Testing the Register of Information
With the fully and correctly completed register of information template, you will have all informations required by the European Banking Authority. However, reporting in this format is not possible. Reporting requires an XBRL-CSV format. You can generate this using the template as an input data source. Alternatively, we offer a conversion tool. If you do not want a dedicated conversion tool, we can perform the conversion as a one-time service for you. The same applies to testing: we offer either a separate testing tool or testing as a service. The test is based on 117 validation rules published by the European Banking Authority on 25 February 2025.
With these testing procedures, you can be confident in submitting a 100% accurate and complete register. This also guarantees that your register of information will be accepted upon submission and will not be rejected due to formal deficiencies. Finally, you can submit your register of information securely and audit-proof via a direct connection to the responsible authority.
The services described above – data storage, conversion, testing, and submission – are conveniently provided at a high level by the IQRegister application. The software is recommended for extensive registers of information and for medium to high complexity levels.
