The register of outsourcing arrangement is a documentation of all institution-specific business processes that are permanently provided by an outsourcing service provider. The associated risk must be analysed prior to outsourcing and on a regular basis. From a risk perspective, material and non-material outsourcing arrangements must be distinguished based on uniform criteria. Appropriate mechanisms must be implemented for risk management, including monitoring the outsourcing provider and the quality of delivered services. New outsourcing arrangements and changes must be reported to the competent authority. Unlike the register of information there is no standardised obligation to submit the entire register of outsourcing arrangement. However, it must be presented to the authority upon request for the entire group or for selected subsidiaries.

The register of outsourcing arrangement and register of information are two similar views of externally contracted services. Many ICT services in the register of information constitute outsourcing within the meaning of MaRisk or MaGo and must therefore be included in both registers.
